T-Shirt Tuesday: Three White Tees from Karmaloop

karmaloop t-shirts

As part of our Karmaloop Giveaway Week, we’ll be covering one Karmaloop product per day, Monday through Friday. Stay tuned, and don’t forget to sign up for the giveaway!

We could feature three t-shirts from Karmaloop every Tuesday for the rest of the year– and never run out of good gear to share.  We’re not trying to kiss anybody’s ass here, its just that Karmaloop has an intimidating volume of t-shirts for sale: 1,808 different tees to be exact (we just did the math).  We chose three new white tees from Karmaloop for our T-Shirt Tuesday column this week, one by IRAK, one by Sons of Liberty and the last by Dissizit.  While GearCrave is strictly a politics-free zone, we can’t hold it in– that shirt in the middle is nothing short of bad ass.  Check ‘em out at Karmaloop.com.

If you’ve been a long time reader of GearCrave, you know we’re big fans of BustedTees and SomeEcards.  To our excitement, we received an email this morning announcing that SomeEcards and BustedTees are joining together to release 8 new designs from classic SomeEcards greeting cards.  We’ll cover more of them throughout the week, but starting off today, BustedTees released the “blasted my pecs” t-shirt, shown above.  Comic gold.

Rocksmith Tees, Summer ‘08

RockSmith is a funky, pop-culture division of streetwear collective Kilo International which also produces a line under the name Kilo Goods. On the scene since 2006, the label had always boasted fresh colors and admirably street-savvy designs but really never captured my attention until now. For their Summer ‘08 Collection of tees, RockSmith went back to that oh-so-reliable well of streetwear inspiration and mined ’80s and ’90s hip-hop and black pop culture. The graphics and colors are all seriously on-point, and the references–everything from Juice to Getto Boys to Kid ‘n’ Play to Arsenio Hall to Guns ‘n’ Roses–both cleverly nostalgic and impeccably cool. Oh, and don’t forget the Warhol Obama tee. See more Rocksmith below…

T-Shirt Tuesday: Tround-Up and DesignByHumans

As you likely know very, very well, we’re big fans of t-shirts on GearCrave.  Your GearCrave editor has an extremely rare Lemar and Dauley “Spread Love” t-shirt in white which I rub with a diaper every other day and talk to on the third.  If anyone reading here has a “Back Like 45″, “Franklin Mint” or “Ferris Bueller” t-shirt from Lemar and Dauley, we will fight with knives, winner take all.

Now that I’ve got that out of the way, I’d like to give a hat tip to a friend of ours, Colin at Troundup.  For those GearCravers who have been around a while, you might remember our DesignByHumans giveaway.  Turns out Colin is running a DBH giveaway of his own, offering $380 worth of DesignByHumans t-shirts fro free from Troundup.  Check out Colin’s giveaway here.  A purchase is required, but if you were looking for a t-shirt anyway, it might be worth taking a close look at Colin’s offer.  Good luck, GearCravers!

This Tuesday, we feature the many minds of ThreadLess for T-Shirt Tuesday at GearCrave.  After the close of their recent summer sale, they’ve released plenty of great new tees, as well as some reprints of Threadless classics.  Our favorites from this week includes two new introductions and one classic.  The “lemon aid” t-shirt, including lemons in dire need of first aid, is out in bright yellow above.  Those rat bastard bums are at our windshields again in the new tee Squeegee Clean.  Last, GearCrave favorite Afternoon Delight has been reprinted, we’re sure to get our own hands on a print this time…  check out ThreadLess for more.

T-Shirt Tuesday: Three from Karmaloop, June 2008

Tuesday, June 10, 2008 11:11AM - By Mike Payne

karmaloop t-shirts

Today on T-Shirt Tuesday, we’ve got three streetwear t-shirts from Karmaloop with cross-over appeal into your wardrobe. RockSmith’s Planet Rock and Rock Smith t-shirts embrace the bold, technicolor street style that begun breaking out of skate/urban fashion long ago and into the mainstream. We’ll take them both, thank you. Absurd’s Above NYC tee features a fading, blood orange skyline with one man rising above. In the heat of the NBA finals, we’d say this shirt has a place in our closet as well. Check these and more out at Karmaloop, linked below.

The ubiquity of streetwear t-shirt lines has reached epic proportions. Everyone and their mother–or, more likely, everyone and their friends from high school– have sweet ideas for clever, limited edition (because they can only afford to print so many) graphic tees with retro, tongue-in-cheek, pop-culture references.
So, what makes Toronto’s Darkhorse different? Well, they get too things absolutely right: execution (print quality) and inspiration (graphic content).  Continue reading for more on the Darkhorse line, plus many pics and videos…
