Be the envy of the LAN party with this easily totable gaming PC from Shuttle. The SDXi Carbon Extreme packs an Intel Core2 Extreme QX9770 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 graphics card, up to 16 GB of DDR2 RAM and up to a terabyte of storage. A “Liquid I.C.E.” cooling system keeps this baby running quietly. The base price is $2,599.99, but if you want any of the specs that we just mentioned, that cost shoots up in a hurry. Choose the high-end processor, full RAM, a 10,000-rpm hard drive and a Blu-ray player, and now you’re talking $6352.99. For that kind of machine, maybe you want to throw in the $400 3-year warranty, too. [Shuttle via CNet]

Don’t like taking your computer out of its carrying case at the airport? Perhaps removing the case from the equation is more desirable. That seems to be the case (pun!) with the Shuttle X50 All-in-One PC, which admittedly isn’t a laptop at all, but rather a desktop computer that stands up like a picture frame. It runs Windows XP and includes a Dual-core Atom Intel 945GC processor, 1GB of RAM, an 80 GB hard disc drive and a 15.6-inch, 1,366×760 screen that appears to be touchable. For $499, you’ll be the envy of the whole security line. [XFastest]

NASA’s Space Shuttle is one of the most amazing flying objects that humans have ever built. It usually launches from the back of a rust-colored external tank, but when its flights are within our own atmosphere, it flies on the back of a modified 747. What looks like an impossible take off – the shuttle weighs 175,000 pounds, costs NASA a total of $1.8 million and has proven to be a success. Check out the 747 transporting the shuttle over the Mojave Desert. It’s stunning! We want a window seat if possible… [via Gizmodo]

I was just thinking yesterday: “You know what the world needs? A gold computer.” Now my dreams have come true with this gold-plated PC by plush department. Not just another pretty face, the PC has a Core 2 Duo processor, 1TB hard drive, 4GB of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 8000GT graphics with 512MB of RAM, 8 USB post, and 2 FireWire ports. No word yet on the price, which given that set-up and you know, the whole gold thing, has got to be pretty high. [via Engadget]
