Fellow Verizon subscribers will agree that although we have the best network around (wanna fight about it?), the phones available to us are boring. Lately that’s been changing with the introduction of the BlackBerry Storm but Verizon isn’t stopping there. Next month the carrier will roll out the Samsung Omnia, Saga, and the sexy HTC Touch Pro. Ever since digital picture frames began populating the market, I wished that they were good for something other than making a hole in your wallet. These new frames from Samsung are actually useful in that when you don’t need them for displaying crappy pictures of your vacation, they can be used as an auxiliary monitor for your PC. The resolution is pretty good too, the 10 inch model is a respectable 1024×600. They come in 8 and 10 inch varieties which retail for $142 and $204 respectively. By the looks of it, there’s an SD card slot and a USB port too. The whole shebang operates via USB. [Amazon via OhGizmo]

Both systems will be available soon for prices between $1,699 and $2,499 depending on the configuration. [via Electronista]

It looks like Samsung’s newest handset will be called the “Epix”. This lust-worthy phone, originally rumored to be the BlackJack III, will run Windows Mobile Professional 6.1, a 5-way d-pad, and GPS. The device should be available later this year for around $200 after rebate. Of course, GearCrave will have the details! [via BoyGenius]

This sexy little Samsung is serious about photography. The standout feature of the Samsung Pixon is its 8MP camera with a zoom lens– a combination which makes this camera phone even better than most point-and-click cameras. As a phone itself, Samsung has targeted the iPhone as competition. The Pixon includes a 3.2″ touch screen, multimedia playback, games and web connectivity. The Pixon ain’t perfect, as its screen is of lower resolution than the iPhone (supporting only 262k colors), its a bit bulkier than the iPhone and it is not clear if the Pixon supports multi-touch. For those who want one device in their pocket– not a point-and-click camera AND a phone, those negatives are vastly eclipsed by the positives. [via gizmodo]

Samsung just gave Apple a run for its money with their new Samsung X360 Notebook. The X360 is even lighter than the MacBook Air, weighing in at just 1.27kg. This 13.3″ laptop runs on an Intel Centrino 2 ULV processor with 4GB RAM and 128GB of solid state storage. While this little laptop may be on our lust-list, we’re scratching our head about the nomenclature. X360? Really? Will their next laptop be called the Wee? Will it sport motion control? Enjoy the lawsuit, Samsung. Let us know how the job search goes for a new director of marketing…

Samsung is at it again, as it is set to release the Access A827 cell phone later this spring. AT&T is the tentative carrier, so expect even more people to migrate away from the Verizons and Alltels of the world for another sweet phone. With an innovative design that combines a wide, iPhone-like beautiful digital screen with the body of a two-way phone such as the EnV. If that didn’t get you excited, imagine MP3 capabilities; full Bluetooth support; a multi-shot, self-timing camera; live mediaFLO TV access and an hour of video capture. Just think: you’ll be able to instantly upload your Saturday night shenanigans for the world to see. Available in May.

Samsung’s Blackjack II is here just in time for Black Friday. You can actually put in a business purchase order for these right now, but non-business customers have to wait until the day after Turkey Feasting Madness. Blackjack II has quad-band GSM/EDGE, 2.4-inch QVGA screen, Bluetooth, and support for AT&T’s 3G high speed network for faster downloads. Samsung also threw in internal GPS, 2mp camera, Windows Mobile 6, high capacity battery, and AT&T Video Share, which lets you send live video over the AT&T network. There’s even a built-in RSS reader. The price for new service contracts? Well, for all this phone, just say “wow”. Just another item to add to your “for me” holiday shopping list.
Buy for $150 with new contract.
