We’ve subsisted on hype long enough. The final details on the Palm Pre have come into view. All we do now is wait for June 6, when you can plunk down $200 (after rebate, natch), sign your soul away in a two-year service agreement with Sprint and raise your new smartphone in triumph. We’ve known the specs for a while now: 3.1-inch 320×480 resolution display, sliding QWERTY keyboard, a 3 megapixel camera with LED flash and 8 GB of built-in flash memory. Palm’s also talking up its WebOS platform, which makes for smooth multitasking between business and entertainment uses. With service plans that mimic those of AT&T and the iPhone — $70 for 450 minutes and so on — will the Pre be able to sway those who haven’t joined the Church of Apple? We’ll see. [Sprint via Crave]

This new handset from Palm gets in on the touch screen craze with a 3.1-inch, 320×480 resolution display. Underneath is a full QWERTY keyboard, so you don’t have to clutter your screen with a virtual one. Transitions between applications are smooth and fast thanks to Palm’s new WebOS platform powered by TI’s OMAP CPU. There’s also a wireless charger — the first ever in a mainstream phone — plus a 3 megapixel camera with LED flash. Here are some more alphabet and number soup specs for you: EV-DO Rev. A, 802.11b/g WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth with A2DP and 8GB of built-in flash memory. [Engadget via SlipperyBrick]

One thing is for sure, the US Presidential Candidates are doing a MUCH better job at keeping their VP secrets safe than Palm Treo Pro was keeping this one under wraps. The Palm Treo Pro was officially revealed today, after many leaks of images and press materials. This next gen smartphone will be available unlocked, allowing you to run it on nearly any provider. It includes a 320×320 touch screen display, GPS, 802.11b/g wireless, a 2MP camera and up to 32 GB storage space. The Palm Treo Pro will run Windows Mobile, and we have a feeling it won’t be long until an Android announcement may follow… Drool over the pics below, GearCravers!
