For the opening of CeBit 2009, MSI dropped its new Wind Top and Win Box series. Leading the pack, the touchscreen AE2010 features a 20″ display and Universal Video Decoder to provide high-def playback in 16:9 aspect ratio. While MSI’s press release scenario of a housewife gathering internet recipes for New Year’s dinner didn’t quite translate (or make much sense whatsoever), the AMD single-core CPU with 780G chipset speak clearly enough about this multimedia machine. No pricing or availability information released outside of “reasonable pricing makes the Wind Top AE2010 the most cost-effective option for an HD machine”. That’s as clear as the aforementioned housewife’s New Year’s dinner plight. [Slash Gear]

Punctuating a flurry of laptop releases this week, MSI has revealed their EX623 notebook, a 16″, Blu-Ray capable powerhouse. The MSI EX623 features an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, up to 4GB RAM, a 320GB hard drive, a Blu Ray drive, a 2MP webcap and a 16″ LCD display powered by an NVIDIA GeForce9500M GS graphics card. While pricing and release dates weren’t included in the news release, we’re hoping it’ll hit before the holidays. While we can suggest a few other laptops with those features, this one will surely stand up in a head-to-head faceoff. [via ubergizmo]
