While LG’s HS102 may not be a high-end HD super-projector, we love it just the same. The LG HS102 is truly portable, using a built-in rechargable battery that provides up to 2 hours of playback per charge. If you don’t have a video source, worry not- the LG HS102 projector provides DIVX playback from a thumb drive. While its resolution stat of 800×600 native may not rock your socks off, the included PhlatLight technology pushes a contrast ratio of 2000:1, giving this ultra mobile projector plenty of depth. This projector is only available in South Korea at the moment, but when it hits home you can expect a price between $500 and $600. Not bad… [via engadget]

God bless the swedes– for IKEA, meatballs, blondes and electronics. While this hot DVD player may not have been designed there, it can only be found there. The LG DVS450H DVD Player is one of the most cutting edge DVD player designs we’ve yet seen, one that would complete the look of our modern media cabinet. While it is only available to Swedish consumers, we can at least fake an accent and hope… [thanks geekalerts]

One of the most anticpated pieces of consumer hardware in 2008 is almost upon us. The LG BD300 Network Blu-ray Disc Player gives hardcore Netflix lovers the ability to stream select movies from Netflix directly to the box for no additional charge. It also does all that other great stuff a Blu-ray player will, like let you watch eye-dropping HD video, upconvert standard DVD video to 1080p and enjoy interactive BD Live content as you play a Blu-ray disc. Watch for it this fall.

Starting on July 1st, drivers in the States of California and Washington will be ticketed for the use of handset mobile phones while driving. With more states to follow, you’re likely to see many more hands-free speakerphones on the market. To satisfy the carbon-conscious, LG has announced a solar-powered hands-free speakerphone that attaches to the lower windshield. The LG HFB-500 Solar Powered Mobile Speakerphone uses the power of the sun to keep you talking while on the go, without bending any driving safety laws… While no solid details are available yet, some have suggested the street price to go within ten dollars of $100. Now that we’re up to our eyes in high-def TVs and Blu-ray movies, TV manufacturers will have to work harder to win over our hard-earned dollars. Luckily, LG has a ridiculously complex marketing campaign for their hot new series of LCD TVs, Scarlet, which will leave you drooling at both the TV and it’s female counterpart, actress Natassia Malthe. Supposedly the world’s slimmest TV monitor, Scarlet is labeled as the “Hit New TV Series,” which also describes the David Nutter-directed action-adventure commercials that are now airing to promote the line. LG describes the TV’s 1.7-inch-thick monitor as “beauty with a brain,” which sparked the idea to promote the TV with a sexy female alter-ego. But enough about babes; among the TV’s features: LG’s trademark, fluid TruMotion 100Hz engine (higher models in the line even have a 120Hz engine) that reduces blur on fast-moving objects (like, say, football players); a red-hued shell; a color-changing LED light on the front panel to set the mood; and an “invisible” speaker that will both puzzle and amaze you. Of course, all the typical HDTV bells and wistles are there – perfect, True HD 1080p resolution, multiple HDMI inputs (you can rock the X-Box, PS3 and wii with no problems) and more.
