Long famous for their iPod docking stations, iLuv came out with something new for the end of the year, the stylish i9500 sound system. It features an AM/FM radio with an alarm clock, plays MP3 and WMA files from up to 4 CDs, docks your iPod and iPhone and goes well with your SD cards and USB storage devices. Fashionably wrapped in black with a somewhat sizeable subwoofer, the i9500 outputs 45W of power and should be available from May 2009. Expect more details at CES in January. [via Engadget]

Yesterday, the good people at Parrot revealed a set of wireless ipod speakers that dock with your iPhone or iPod Touch. If that design strikes you, it certainly should– it was created by none other than famed industrial design icon Philippe Starck. A long-time favorite of GearCrave and StyleCrave, Starck has put his own design sensibility into an object that fits perfect into the iPod-enabled life. Standing at 2-and-a-half feet tall, the Parrot Zikmu speakers are a good fit for the living room or the office, and will fill any space with rich, vibrant sound as stored in your iPod or iPhone. Sick of the same tired, played out emo songs reverberating against your eardrums? Want something different? How about showing some sophistication and getting an iPod dedicated to one of the timeless greats in classical music? You might impress a whole new type of woman. Passionato, a classical music store, has released a limited addition 120 GB iPod the Backpod that comes loaded with the entire collection of Johann Sebastian Bach’s works–over 175 hours worth. While the $750 price tag may sound steep, you’d spend over double that on the music alone. After all the Bach, you’ll still have over half the space left for other music. Just in time for Christmas, this could make an unexpected and much-appreciated gift for that difficult-to-buy-for lover of classical music in your life. [Passionato via technabob]

They’re baaaaaaaaack! After filing for bankruptcy and shutting down stores earlier this year, The Sharper Image has just launched an online store and promises to “transcend the ordinary” with 20 new products to be launched at CES in January. Looking at what they’re showing on their website we’re betting that those products are all iPod docks, which we hate to break it to Sharper Image, are pretty darn ordinary. Still it’s nice to see the company making a comeback of sorts, even if it is filled with iPod dock lameness. [via Boing Boing]

The age of vinyl records, spinning tables and those huge speakers in brass are all but long gone. However, if you still happen to have an unmatched collection of vintage originals on those disks, then Numark’s TTi will rip them out and transfer them into your iPod, no computer required. Just place the disk on the spinning table of the TTi, put the iPod in its dock, push of a few buttons, and voila. You get your old classics transformed into 16-bit, 44 KHz stereo recordings. Price is $450 if you plan on bringing back the good old times. [via Crave]

How many times have you been out soaking up rays only to discover your favorite gadget is losing battery power? Rather than make you head in out of the sun for a recharge the iPower SX solar powered charger charges your gadgets for you outside using the power from the sun.
The device captures solar energy in a 2200mAh battery that once charged is said to be able to power an iPod for FIFTY hours. The iPower also claims to be able to charge the iPhone, most Nokia devices, some other mobile phones, portable gaming consoles, cameras, and MP3 players…so pretty much any small device that takes a battery is what is sounds like to us. If you live in a hole, or hate going in the sun you can also charge the battery through the USB port on your computer, although that sort of defeats the purpose. Get one now in the UK for around $62. Sennheiser has announced a new pair of high dollar headphones that appear to be designed for people who are interested in losing them. The wireless, band-less earbuds don’t have any special way of staying in your ears, and don’t have any cables to keep them with your iPod or other device while they’re not in use. Its a good thing they cost $630 so you can easily replace them…
Besides the whole being easily lost and really expensive thing, the headphones are actually pretty sweet. Each bud has a 2.4GHz built-in wireless receiver and claims to be able to last a whopping ten hours on a single charge. Currently the phones are available only in Japan, no word on when or if we’ll see them here in the US. [via BoingBoing]
