“What’s that? Can you speak up a bit?” If you’re havin trouble hearing from your iPhone’s built in speaker, a bit of passive amplification might be just the ticket. SoundClip naturally amplifies the sound coming out of your iPhone like a speaker cone on a classic record player. There’s no complex gadgetry to it, it just makes your iPhone more audible when you need it to be– and we’re quite happy to hear that. (say hello to the fellow snapping the picture in the iPhone’s reflection!) [via gizmodo]

You’re out in the field with an M110 rifle, trying to line up the perfect shot. But with wind, temperature, humidity, altitude and atmospheric pressure, who knows where that bullet is really going to go? Fortunately, the Bulletflight iPhone app mounts onto the rifle and tells you where the shot will land relative to line of sight. Just enter the parameters and calculate the ballistics. Knight’s Armaments commissioned the app, so it’s designed to work with the gun maker’s own models, but there’s already another application called iSnipe that doesn’t discriminate. Bulletflight costs $11.99 and iSnipe costs $4.99. Who knew this was such a competitive market? [Bulletflight via WooHome]

Slackers G2 music player is now available not only online, but on your Blackberry or iPhone as well. The mobile version of the program works just like the traditional web version, streaming a slew of radio stations directly to your mobile phone. Pandora is currently one of the most downlodaed applications from the Apple store, so Slacker has a pretty slid chance of getting quite a few downloads themselves. One huge downside to the iphone application is there is no buffer, so you’ll have to have a constant internet stream going to really use the app (or deal with your music starting an stopping when your connection is interrupted). Adding to the pile of iPhone Nano rumors, the Chinese language Economic Daily News reports that two chip manufacturers, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and United Microelectronics Corporation, may be on the receiving end of iPhone Nano chip orders from an unspecified buyer. The orders would supposedly be placed in March and shipped in June. Before you get your hopes up, several well-respected folks are already dismissing this one as bunk. Wired says it’s unlikely that a chip contract would be leaked before getting signed, and PC World simply says Apple has no reason to release such a product.
However, the idea isn’t totally dead. Recall that last month iPhone case manufacturer XSKN created an iPhone Nano spot on its Web site, and the company has a track record of doing the same thing for previous Apple creations. Plus, we got this supposedly leaked picture around the same time. So what if it looks like a Photoshop job? A man can dream. [Wired]

This makes a lot of sense. The SlingBox has been around for a few years now, allowing people to route their TV through the Internet and share the video with friends, family or their own laptops. With the newly announced Mobile SlingPlayer for the iPhone, you’ll no longer have to jump on a computer to watch TV. The app can even remotely control home digital video recorders to pause, rewind or fast forward live television. Sling Media hasn’t set a price yet, and there’s no firm release date, but it’s set to launch sometime this quarter. [via DVICE]

While the touch screen is undoubtedly one of the “Wow!” features of the iPhone, many people would like to see an attached keyboard added to the device in order to make typing a little easier. Under the thought process that Apple would never go “backwards” and release an iPhone with a physical keyboard, one industrious Apple fan has created an iPhone accessory concept to do just that. For me, the touchscreen on my iPhone works great. I don’t see any need to have an additional keyboard. What about you? Any iPhone users wish you had a keyboard? [via Gizmodo]

Rumors have it that Apple plans to release an iPhone nano that is a 3/4 slimmer version of the original. But if you think of it, what will happen to the on-screen keyboard or the battery if they shrink it down? Though expected to be shown off at the Macworld keynote next month, we’re a bit skeptical because Steve Jobs won’t be in attendance. Do you think it makes sense to release a top news product to the world without your CEO in the midst of this financial funhouse? Color us doubtful. It looks attractive enough, but will it top the sales like its older brother? We’ll first have to see this baby live … [via Dvice]

Now you can bring the fun and excitement of handheld football to your iPhone. iPhone developer Mark Helmuth release LED Football 2 for the phone yesterday which provides you with the true old school handheld football field with functionality for running, kicking, punts, field goals, and passing. The coolest thing about this old school game is it actually gets old; with the buttons slowly wearing down the more you play. You can pick up the game now at the Apple app store. [BoingBoing]

Looking to go green with your iPhone…or at least be able to get power when there isn’t an outlet around? This solar powered iPhone case from SolarArcadia can re-charge a completely empty iPhone battery in three hours using the power from the sun (or course the case will have to set in the sun for 12 hours beforehand to make that magic happen). While not exactly the most useful for normal everyday use it could be a pretty solid option for backpackers and the like who are away from power for a period of time. [via TUAW]
