LG is showing off a few new desktops in Asia, namely the R20 and S20. The R20 will have a 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Quad processor, GeForce 9500GS GPU, and 3GB of memory we well as a cooling system that is “based on Multi Direction Platform Cooling, which also makes it run fairly quietly.” The S20 has Intel Core 2 Quad 2.66GHz processor and a GeForce 9600GT GPU. No word on a US release date or pricing… [via Engadget]

Intel officially revealed its latest, greatest chip for desktops today, the Intel Core i7. The good people over at Engadget have quite a good coverage lineup, I suggest heading over there and checking out the details. The best part? “Even the “low end” Core i7 920 [is] able to defeat the higher clock speed Core 2 Quad Q9650 “over and over” according to TechSpot, a feat due in large part to the CPU’s on-die memory controller and Intel’s new QPI technology.” [engadget]
