adamo So Close, Yet So Far From Real Info on the New Dell Adamo

For weeks we’ve been seeing very brief, hollow glimpses of the new Dell Adamo from Dell’s teaser campaign videos. The practical information that’s been rendered is virtually non-existent: a 13.3-inch screen and an ultrathin Dell theoretically worthy of taking on the MacBook Air. What’s inside? What features does this Adamo have to offer? It’s beginning to feel like we may never know, and like any secret that’s kept too long, we may not be too overwhelmed when we find out. The latest video in the Adamo series offers a slightly better glimpse inside the making of this machine–that is, if the making entails the Adamo being levitated and passed between a series of robots. Oh well, if this keeps up, we can all continue to watch this thrilling mystery unfold on our new MacBook Airs. Check it out for yourself. [Slash Gear]

New Asus Eee Tops on Display

asuset2203 lg New Asus Eee Tops on Display

Asus is upping the size in its line of all-in-one Eee Top PCs. Spotted at CeBIT 2009, the ET2003 and ET2203 are 20-inch and 22-inch models, respectively, looking a little like Apple’s current generation iMacs. We’re short on specs, but the presence of an HDMI jack, Blu-ray drives and an HDTV tuner suggest use as a somewhat portable media center. Notebook Italia, which discovered the two all-in-ones, says there’s a dedicated graphics card for “excellent gaming,” but doesn’t specify which. The sneak peak didn’t come with a price or release date, so sit tight. [Notebook Italia (translated) via Electronista]

Two Apple Rumors: Snow Leopard and Netbook

apple tablet Two Apple Rumors: Snow Leopard and Netbook

It’s a great day for unverafiable information, with a double dose of Apple rumors. Let’s start with the juicy one: Digitimes reports that Wintek, a Taiwan-based manufacturer, is working with Apple on some new products, including a touch screen “for Apple’s new netbook.” This product would be larger than an iPod Touch but smaller than the 13-inch MacBook, and is said to launch in the third quarter of this year. Mark your calendars and see if the report comes true.

The second rumor is more of a prediction. Apple’s next OS, called Snow Leopard, will launch on June 8, Baltimore Sun reporter David Zeider believes. There are a lot of Apple books coming out that month, and last June Steve Jobs said the next OS would come out in about a year. To firm up the date, Zeider looked at the likely window for Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference. A generic “Corporate Meeting” is scheduled at the usual venue, at about the usual time of year, starting June 6, and he figures it’ll take a couple of days for Apple’s announcement. True or not, Zeider suggests holding off on a new MacBook until Snow Leopard arrives. [Digitimes and Baltimore Sun via Wired, fake tablet from Frato]

dell latitude xt2 tablet pc Dells Latitude XT2: on Sale for $2,459?

The Dell Latitude XT2 is now on sale through Amazon. The $2,459 computer has a swivel screen that allows you to turn into a tablet rather than a traditional laptop with just a few twists and turns of the screen.  Besides the pretty badass touchscreen screen the computer actually has some pretty decent specs otherwise. The 12.1-inch XT2 has a 120GB 5,400rpm hard drive, Bluetooth, and an ExpressCard slot. The version available on Amazon also has a DVDF burner E-Module, which allows you to install software on the device and burn CDs and DVDs. The screen alone makes this one worth the price to us. Inside the New Mac Releases

inside mini mac Inside the New Mac Releases

When I get a new computer, I’m usually focused on getting all the hardware properly hooked up and loading all the necessary software. Some of our tech friends over at IFixit and Boing Boing have a different take. Rather than building, they’re breaking down. They got their hands on the new iMac 20″ and Mac Mini respectively and didn’t waste much time getting a look at the guts. In order to bring us well beyond the spec sheet, they’ve leftied some screws and given us a look inside to see what’s beyond the glitzy 20″ monitor. The cold hard facts on the iMac 20″: crisp 1680 x 1050 display, four USB 2.0 ports, optical audio in/out, loud, clear speakers, FireWire 800 7 Watts and Gigabit Ethernet. To see the rest that these computers have to offer, in full detail, and find out how to dissect one yourself, follow links above.

CaseCrave: Big Empty Canvas Edition

corsaircase2 CaseCrave: Big Empty Canvas Edition

It appears that Corsair is getting ino the PC case game with this yet-unnamed monstrosity. It’s got cut-outs for water cooling and four hot-swap SATA trays for a variety of hard drive configurations, plus three 120mm fan ports on top to keep the heat rising right out of there. Best of all, this thing is screaming for a makeover. I envision some sort of Darth Vader theme, with the hot-swap door made to look like that weird control panel on his chest. At the very least, someone’s got to throw some LED lights and fluorescent water cooling tubes in there. [Tom's Hardware via CrunchGear]
