It looks like you’ll have to wait a little longer to get your digital TV. Congress has officially decided to delay the digital TV transition until June 12th. The digital switchover was supposed to happen February 17th, however the government decided to give people more time to get everything together for the switch. Despite the massive amount of notice, the government estimates that close to 20 million people wouldn’t be ready for the switch to happen. The delay will also delay the launch of a 4G network that was expected to use the vacated 700MHz band, AT&T and Verizon who purchase rights to sue the band eventually approved the delay, while Qualcomm, who also bought space remained opposed.
