Warm Food Electrically With “+/- Hot Plate”

Yesterday we had the catapulting toaster. Now we’ve got a plate that stays warm along its conductive patterns of silk-screened gold and amorphic metal films. It seems we’re suckers for infusing technology into the mundane. An entrant in designboom’s “Dining in 2015” contest, Amy Drach and Dov Ganchrow’s “+/- hot plate” runs a current through the decorative part of the dish when plugged in. All you need is an outlet in the middle of the kitchen table and you’re all set. [designboom]
