Grab your tinfoil hats, mirror shields and popcorn, military lasers are here. Boeing recently announced that a new laser system they have developed was tested and successfully shot down a UAV (un-manned aerial vehicle). The kilowatt-class Laser Avenger system “burned a hole” in the UAV and knocked it out of flight, making this a big step toward more military-grade laser weapons.
