ssd Is it time to redesign how we build computers?
Dvice writer Kevin Hall wrote a post yesterday discussing the possibility of redesigning the way we currently build computers, specifically those with SSDs. He suggests that is we built a hard drive made of SSDs in a similar way as a traditional hard drive we would be able to store much more data. He suggests that computer performance could be improved if “the way we installed memory inside a computer was reconfigured. Solid state memory, for instance, could be built right onto a computer’s motherboard, rather than hooked up to it via slower connections in a drive form.”
