Circuit City Liquidaton: Deal or No Deal?

In case you missed the news, Circuit City announced the closure of all 567 of its remaining U.S. stores and began liquidating its merchandise over the weekend. Roughly 34,000 employees will have to find new jobs, perhaps with Best Buy, which is now the only major consumer electronics retailer in the U.S. Circuit City filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in November, and was forced to close last week when it couldn’t find a buyer or reach an agreement with creditors and lenders to keep going. Theoretically, this would be the time to make like a vulture and start hunting for going-out-of-business deals.
