LinkCrave: Goodbye CES, Hello NAMM
By Mike Payne
Just days after CES 2009 closes its doors, musicians and music gear developers from all over the world touch down in Anaheim, California for Winter NAMM 2009. This meeting of the National Association of Music Merchants is the greatest trade show of its industry, where developers like Roland, Korg, Fender, Gibson and Akai reveal their new wares to the world. The people at Akai revealed their big story earlier today, the Akai APC40. This machine gives electronic musicians a new level of control over their computer-based audio environments– in this case, specifically Ableton’s LIVE software. While there is much more news to come from NAMM 2009, this is the one that the music press is most excited about… Head on over to CreateDigitalMusic for more on this one, and say hello to our buddy Peter Kirn while you’re at it!
