In July 2006, Nikolai Cornell and a marketer at the firm George P. Johnson started brainstorming for an Acura exhibit “that by its very nature – said “innovation,” as Cornell put it. The result was a set of self-contained “oracles” that appeared at auto shows in 2007. A high lumen projector casts the images from underneath a multi-touch screen, which several users could play with at once. Acura-related ideas on the subjects of “technology, connected, performance, and design” flourished along with sound — and presumably made people want to buy an Acura. The flashier photos seen here are from a workshop at the Art Center College of Design, where the idea coalesced among students.
