Sennheiser Introduces HD 800 Headphones
By Jared Newman
With its new HD 800 headphones, Sennheiser claims it’s closer to replicating natural human hearing than any other manufacturer to date. That’s a bold statement, but Sennheiser backs it up with advanced driver technology and the biggest transducers on the market, creating a natural sound with little low-end resonance. The luxury continues with the materials, such as stainless steel casings for the transducers, ear pads made from soft-to-touch Japanese Alcantara, a metal headband with a damping element and four-wire connections insulated with teflon. Plus, the HD 800 looks fairly high-tech. For $1400, it better. [Sennheiser USA]
