In Case of Disaster, Concept Wrist Phone

Ominous thought of the day: You never know when something horrible will happen. Out in L.A., they talk about “The Big One,” but few people are truly ready for such a  ‘quake. This concept disposable pre-paid phone from Yanko Design is a start. When you’re escaping that crumbling building or climbing through wreckage, just keep the phone wrapped around your wrist until you’re ready to dial for help. To that end, it’d be great if it was waterproof and fire-resistant. And the fact that it’s “cheap to manufacture and market” doesn’t inspire much confidence, given that durability is desirable during your personal apocalypse. At least it looks funky around the wrist.
