GameCrave: Rise of the Argonauts, Download Frenzy

The holiday gaming season is winding down, with new releases slowing to the occasional trickle. Rise of the Argonauts, an RPG inspired by the Greek mythology of Jason and crew, comes out today. And that’s about it.

Most developers are tending to their current releases or working on new ones. At Spike TV’s Video Game Awards on Sunday (where Grand Theft Auto IV was the victor. Yawn.), Epic Games announced three new multiplayer maps for Gears of War 2, which you can download now for the Microsoft Points equivalent of $10. Lots of big titles are offering new paid content in the coming months, including Fallout 3, Mirror’s Edge and the aforementioned Grand Theft Auto IV. We call this the “please give your money to the publishers instead of recycling through GameStop” business plan.
