Vertu launches $30k handset

It’s good to know that the bad economy isn’t hurting the high-end handset market. Vertu has launched the Vertu Boucheron 150, a $30,000 handset designed truly for those people for whom money is no object. The handset is built by hand out of solid gold and has a sapphire crystal keypad. The handset supposedly took close to 1,000 hours to hand-shape, 700 hours to polish, and 500 to put the whole thing together. For $30,000 it better have taken that long! [via UberGizmo]
