Though AMD didn’t rush to announce that their Phenom II processor is going to be released some time soon, the guys at EE Times managed to discover that the 45nm quad-core chip will support DDR2 and DDR3 memory (up to 1333MHz), will run at 2.8 and 3.0GHz and should cost $235 and $275 respectively. However if that won’t get your interest, there’s also a 65nm version of the chip that should make it to the upcoming CES, early 2009. Comparing it with the Core i7 at 2.66 GHz ($299) and 2.99 GHz ($569), if the prices stay it seems like a pretty good deal. [via Engadget]
