Hi Beau,
Mike Payne here, author of this announcement post. I wrote this on October 2nd, the day that the Nintendo DSi was officially revealed by Nintendo. There were little to no details about the DSi at time of release, and all of the features you mentioned were announced much later than the publication of this article.

Our job at GearCrave is to post news when it happens. We share the details we have when news breaks. When the DSi was announced, the details on the item were precisely what I said in this post-- boring. It was only until the new features and options were revealed that the Nintendo DSi became an attractive item to video game consumers just like you and me.

When it was announced, the DSi was no more interesting than the DS I own now. Today, with all the new options, I'm considering an upgrade. But does my initial response to the news of the DSi make me "an idiot"? There's where we disagree.

first off what an idiot for writing this without full knowledge. Yes you loose battery life and the gameboy advanced slot but you gain so much more. the dsi know has a store where you can purchase old games like Pokemon Blue or red, wifi internet is now a newer feature. I completely redesigned desktop and all of the applications that come with the dsi are amazing. It is not just MP3 compatible it is ITUNES compatible. many other features are available on the Nintendo Dsi but you better reserve it soon because you wont see it again until Christmas
