The Samsung Pixon: an 8MP Camera Phone

This sexy little Samsung is serious about photography. The standout feature of the Samsung Pixon is its 8MP camera with a zoom lens– a combination which makes this camera phone even better than most point-and-click cameras. As a phone itself, Samsung has targeted the iPhone as competition. The Pixon includes a 3.2″ touch screen, multimedia playback, games and web connectivity. The Pixon ain’t perfect, as its screen is of lower resolution than the iPhone (supporting only 262k colors), its a bit bulkier than the iPhone and it is not clear if the Pixon supports multi-touch. For those who want one device in their pocket– not a point-and-click camera AND a phone, those negatives are vastly eclipsed by the positives. [via gizmodo]
