People think The X-Files was the most paranoid show in TV history, but it pales in comparison to The Prisoner. He races home, pulls out his passport and gets ready to fade away for good. Too bad he never makes it. McGoohan wakes up on an island controlled by unknown forces who are determined to extract information in any number of ingenious ways. And all that’s just in the opening credits! Hands down the best thing to hit the small screen…ever.
