By Mike Payne
At first glance, you might find yourself describing these bags from Cocaine Mule as stylish, straightforward, and simple. What surprised us, and will likely surprise you as well, is that these Companion Bags are much more than just a shoulder bag for your laptop. The Cocaine Mule Companion Bags are a modular luggage system that truly innovate how you mobilize your gear on the go. If you live the high tech, fast-paced life that we do here at GearCrave, these unassuming canvas bags are a godsend. You’ll want to keep reading this article for two important reasons:
- We’ll show you the details on why this bag is so damned cool. Keep reading to find out why you need one.
- We’re giving a set of four Cocaine Mule Companion Bags away to one lucky reader (a $115 value). Continue reading to sign up for your bag in less than a minute.
Part One: The Bags
The Cocaine Mule Companion Bag Package includes four separate bags (all four of which will be included in this giveaway). This includes the Companion Bag and the three smaller accent bags, which are 9″, 6″, and 3″ in length. What you do with the space from these bags is entirely up to you. With all four, you could pack a laptop and a change of clothes, your toiletries, a camera, lunch and a kitchen sink. With that, we’re still in standard shoulder bag territory. What sets these bags apart?
Cocaine Mule calls their own proprietary luggage technology “Intuitive Modularity”. Modular, check. Intuitive, check. In Cocaine Mule’s own words:
Intuitive Modularity is our design foundation. It is our goal to create adaptable, user-friendly bags of durable construction. To develop a line of products that can be combined in different colors and sizes to adapt to life’s ever changing landscape. Whether it’s over the shoulder or around the waist, Cocaine Mule bags and accessories are the perfect mixture of clean design and uncompromising quality.
Okay, here’s where we get into the meat. Check out this Cocaine Mule diagram for Intuitive Modularity:

Cocaine Mule’s main Companion Bag includes a series of magnets on its strap and under the main flap. Using the magnets and Velcro release straps, the Accent Bags can be attached to the Companion Bag in various ways. The shoulder strap can be released and threaded through the Accent Bags, turning your Companion Bag into a companion belt. Under the main flap of the Companion Bag is a Velcro release strap, under which is a series of magnets for attaching the Accent Bags– making for a four-in-one bag to carry all of your gear. In short, you can mix, match, and attach these bags in ways that make for a truly modular level of mobility for your gear. We’ve got plenty of detailed images in the gallery at the end of this post. For now, however, we’re sure you’re aching to learn how you can win your very own in less than a minutes work. Without further adieu…
