 Thruxton by Triumph

Most motorcycles today fall into three unofficial categories of design, Cruiser, Racer or Retro. The 2008 Thruxton by Triumph is a beautiful mixture of the last two categories. Inspired by the Spartan café racers of the 1960s, this meticulously designed bike evokes images of a Steve McQueen era where not everyone looked like Jim Morrison or The Fab Four wearing Sgt. Pepper uniforms. An era transitioning from the minimal 50s aesthetic to a more Euro/Japanese inspired high design. Part of Triumph’s “Modern Classics” range of bikes, the Thruxton features an 865cc, air-cooled, twin cylinder power plant, the most powerful of Triumph’s twin cylinder line-up, has a peak power output of 69bhp delivered at 7400rpm and peak torque of 52ft.lbf arrives at 5800rpm.
