It’s the wood that makes it good…When designer and wood craftsman Francesco Gillia decided to move to Hermosa Beach, California from Italy, he did what most of us transplants do and went native. Learning to long-board, Francesco was less than impressed by the quality of readily available ply-wood boards found in most skate shops throughout the Los Angeles area. Taking matters into his own hands, Francesco and his brother Marco, set out to design and build the world’s first organic and mostly green skate boards. Using North American Hardwoods from sources that practice sustainable forest management and natural tung oil and varnish resins, they have delivered this beautiful, karma saving side-walk surfer. Manufactured in a very limited run for Design Within Reach(DWR).
