Some people say “I want to be rich enough to sleep on a bed of money”, but now you can set your sights on the gold standard with this 24-karat gold remote control from Lantic Systems. The Danish company announced it would begin shipping the Gold RC-1 in December ’07, and controls televisions, DVD players, and there’s a button labeled “Internet”. The boring non-precious metals version of this retails at over a grand. Try and guess how much the gold one costs, and whatever figure you came up with, add a zero. This sucker costs a staggering $55,000. But it DOES have that “Internet” button.
